Condition and Details of Restoration:
These chairs are in untouched original condition, and are structurally completely sound. They were ‘distressed’ when made, i.e. some marks and scratches were deliberately added to give them the appearance of being older than they are. As can be seen from the photographs, the seats have minor stains and scuffs but no tears. Also, there is some minor damage to the cane work (see detail photograph), but nothing serious.
