A quite exceptional quality and generously proportioned George III period mahogany breakfast table, of particularly good weight of timber, having a rectangular tip-up top with generous rosewood cross band, raised on an imposing base with turned column and reeded humped sabre legs terminating in original brass ‘lion’s paw’ shoe castors. An ample six-seater, and reasonably comfortable for eight.
Height 28″ (71cm) Width 64″ (163cm) Depth 49” (124cm)
Condition and Details of Restoration:
This table is in completely sound original structural condition. The polish has been revived, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some old marks underneath the polish commensurate with age and use; in our opinion the photographs are representative.
