Giltwood and Gesso Three Plate Overmantle Mirror

An attractive Regency period three plate overmantle mirror with giltwood and gesso frame bearing classical motifs including reeded columns with acanthus carved capitals and a central motif of chariot and horses.

Condition and Details of Restoration:

This mirror is in generally untouched original condition. As would be expected, there is some minor flaking to the gilt work, and minor foxing to the mirror plate. The frame is attractively rubbed in places, allowing the red bole layer to show through.
